Ba Markets
These markets were full of an amazing array of fresh fruit and vegetables and fish.  Ba Town is a soccer mad town and a large sign tells you this as you enter.  Unusual in that Fiji is very much rugby orientated and to a lesser degree, rugby league.

Kava roots before being pounded into powder and then mixed with water

Chillies

Indian sweets & savoury nibbles

Visit to traditional Village Navala
Beautiful view from a photo stop en route to the village

Another photo stop - looking down on the village we were to visit

Chief Errol (R) and Spokesman Kurt

A little tot having a wash - note the line of nappies

Little boys pretending to whippersnip - someone was actually whippersnipping in the distance

The village - an idyllic setting

Just love this.  A poster in one of the school classrooms.

Wandering through the village.  One of our guides on the left.  We had to remove our hats, put on sarongs and not wear sunglasses

That's me fossicking for shells which I didn't bring back unfortunately.

Starting the kava ceremony after the evening boatload arrived - we did the day/night combo so were there all day.

Preparing our dinner.

The gorgeous girl dancers

The male dancers doing a fire dance - amazing.

Jill's catch - a Trevally which they took back to the hotel where it was cooked the next night for our tea.  Very yummy.

Kurt walking along the beautiful beach.  Sand was wonderful to walk on and run your toes through.

A couple of "cannibal warriors" who welcomed us plus our boat captain

Entertainment at lunch

We thought the guys were going to set their partners' headdresses on fire but all was well

Fire eater

He was playing with fire blind folded

Me - not very flattering - on the boat trip down river
Whale's Tail Cruise to Snorkel Island
This was a wonderful last day of our holidays and a fabulous way to spend our 6th wedding anniversary

Hi jinx on the return journey to Port Denrau.  People jumping off the top deck.

That's us

Titanic style.  I think we were supposed to be facing the other way but it took a lot of courage to get up there in the first place let alone turn around.

Captain Ahab?  No just Errol.

Going out to look at coral on the glass bottomed boat.

Our ship on arrival back in port.

Captain John

Was trying to take a photo of the galley but this head pokes in

Our ship anchored at Snorkel Island

Snorkel Island - our home for the afternoon.   Beautiful but the beach was mainly made of broken coral and a bit hard to walk on but sitting in the water was just magical

Another sailing ship out for the day
